What You Need To Know

Who Could be Affected?

  • LPG/Gasoline forklift fleet operators in California
  • If you operate or plan on opening a new facility in California
  • If you have any forklift equipment leases expiring in next 3 years

FLEET OPERATORS WOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO PURCHASE or RECEIVE NEW 2026 or LATER MODEL YEAR AFFECTED FORKLIFTS (LSI) STARTING JANUARY 1ST, 2026.

The proposed draft regulation applies to “affected Forklifts,” defined as:

Equipped with a Large Spark–Ignited Engine
(e.g. a propane/lpg or gasoline fueled engine)

Class IV Forklifts All Capacities
(cushion tire forklifts)

Class V Forklifts with a Lift Capacity of Up to 12,000 lbs
(pneumatic tire forklifts)
